Dr. Matthew Kelly received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from New York College of Chiropractic (NYCC) in December 2012. He received his Bachelor’s degree from St. John Fisher College in 2009, majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology.
Dr. Matt graduated with honor and was on the Dean’s list at both colleges. Dr. Matt completed advanced training in Sports Science and Human Performance at NYCC. He was also the recipient of the Libero A Violini Distinguished Service Award at NYCC, with recognized excellence in patient evaluation, clinical skills, and selfless dedication to service.
Active his entire life, Dr. Matt was a 3-sport athlete (football, baseball, hockey) in high school, and continued his athletic career into 4 years of college football. He is passionate about helping patients get out of pain and return to any activities they enjoy doing.
Dr. Matt started his chiropractic career in his hometown of Rochester, NY after graduation for 1.5 years. To further and deepen his study and clinical practice of A.R.T., he moved to Arlington, VA to work in a clinic that focused on ART treatments and functional rehabilitation.
Via dedicated years of continuing education in advanced post-graduate training and 11 years of busy clinical practice, Dr. Matt has specialized in Functional Assessment, Active Release Techniques (A.R.T.) soft tissue therapies, and advanced physical rehabilitation in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS).
Dr. Matt is also certified in various other strength and conditioning, and rehabilitation techniques, as they relate to everyone ranging from the elite athlete to the weekend warrior to the casual jogger, and to anyone who wants to have long term recovery from pain and injury.
Dr. Matt and his wife moved to beautiful San Diego amid Covid pandemic in 2020. Despite the pandemic, he was able to quickly grow and maintain a busy practice in a clinic in La Jolla using expert ART and DNS rehabilitation skills. Dr. Matt joined Action Performance Care due to high degree of alignment of clinical philosophy in helping patient maximally, by providing fast and lasting relief for patient, through highly effective short term care for long term recovery.
Dr. Matt currently lives in Del Mar/Carmel Valley area with his wife Caroline and their dog Tuna. He is an avid sport fan, and loves playing and watching sports in his free time. He enjoys staying active by visiting the many beaches and hiking trails that San Diego has to offer.
